The song “Se o Caminho é Meu” (1985), written and performed by Ivone Lara, asserts Black women’s right to autonomy, freedom, and the direction of their own lives. Walking, in this sense, is also the ability to decide when to continue, remain, or interrupt one’s path.
I am making available a controlled fine art edition of the work in two formats:

As obras reproduzem pinturas em aquarela e geotintas realizadas em 2022, durante minha residência artística na Indigo Arts Alliance, nos Estados Unidos, em diálogo com pesquisas sobre culturas alimentares afro-diaspóricas desenvolvidas com a Prof.ª Dra. Ana Lopes Assunção e com consultoria de Scott Barton, da New York University.
A série integra o projeto AMOR-Tecimento, voltado às relações entre cuidado, memória e preservação das histórias afro-diaspóricas.

The works reproduce watercolor and earth-pigment paintings created in 2022 during my artist residency at Indigo Arts Alliance, in the United States, developed in dialogue with research on Afro-diasporic food cultures alongside Prof. Dr. Ana Lopes Assunção and with consultancy by Scott Barton, from New York University.

The four ink wash works that form the polyptych “O Grande Golpe” (2022), addressing solitude, resignation, silence, and suffocation related to solo motherhood, especially during the postpartum period, are sold exclusively as a set. Each work measures 14.8 x 21 cm (A5).
